Mikala Moffitt

Executive Director & Co-Founder

Mikala Moffitt, LCSW,  has over a decade of experience as a licensed clinical social worker, she has devoted her career to advocating for human trafficking victims and at-risk youth. Her leadership and dedication to anti-trafficking initiatives have earned her several prestigious awards.
 
In 2019, Mikala was named Community Advocate of the Year by Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody at the Human Trafficking Summit. This recognition celebrated her role in uniting survivors, law enforcement, and service providers to combat exploitation. In 2023, she received the Catalyst Award at the Polaris Star Awards Ceremony, where she was praised as a “natural leader” by Tomas Lares, Founder of United Abolitionists, for her profound impact on trafficking survivors.
 
As Director of Anti-Trafficking Mobile Teams at One More Child, Mikala led efforts to provide direct care and services to survivors, guiding them through their recovery. She also contributed to the textbook Human Trafficking: A Comprehensive Exploration of Modern Day Slavery, sharing her expertise in the field. In addition to her work with Empowerment Access, she serves on the board of the Central Florida Human Trafficking Task Force and continues to collaborate with organizations like Samaritan Village and United Abolitionists to train law enforcement and support survivor services.

Ken Klien

President & Co-Founder

Ken Klein brings a wealth of leadership experience and a deep dedication to serving vulnerable communities. As a previous board member of Child Advocates of Placer County, he has been actively involved in supporting at-risk youth, offering guidance and advocacy to help them thrive.
 
His 15 years of coaching middle school wrestling have given him a unique insight into mentoring young people, helping them develop resilience and overcome challenges.
 
As the Co-Founder of the Empowerment Access Foundation, Ken plays a key role in the organization’s growth and development, with a special focus on driving fundraising initiatives.
 
Committed to the foundation’s mission of empowering survivors of human trafficking and providing essential resources to aged-out foster youth, Ken serves in a non-salaried capacity, ensuring his efforts are fully dedicated to advancing these critical causes.
